Journal of Nippon Medical School Accepted into Thomson Reuters Science Citation Index Expanded and BIOSIS Previews

We are pleased to announce that the Journal of Nippon Medical School (JNMS), Official Journal of the Medical Association of Nippon Medical School, has been accepted by Thomson Reuters (formerly Thomson Scientific/ISI) for coverage in the Science Citation Index Expanded (SCIE) database including the Journal Citation Reports (JCR). The journal is now under coverage in the BIOSIS Previews database.

Since the journal coverage in the SCIE will commence with issues published in the 2011 publication year, the journal's first impact factor will therefore be dependent on the acquisition of citable item counts for the years 2011 and 2012. This total quantity will be divided into the total number of times that all 2011 and 2012 items will be cited during the "JCR Year" of 2013. The journals' first impact factor will therefore appear in the 2013 JCR, which will be released in mid-2014.

This significant achievement is a compelling sign that JNMS is becoming an increasingly important scientific resource in the field of basic and clinical medicine throughout the world.
