Research Interests

     The regulatory systems to maintain homeostasis are the basis of the creature on the earth, organized so mysteriously, which we, researchers for biology and medicine, are charmed and trapped to participate in. We are interested in the cellular mechanisms to adapt the changes of nutritional status, and in the central regulatory mechanisms of animal behavior to adapt the changes of their social environment. We are doing animal experiments, focusing on the actions, regulations, signaling, and pathophysiological significances of hormones. The subjects of our current research are as follows;

  • ・Neuronal basis of parental behavior in male mice
  • ・Significance of insulin signaling for changes of nutritional status
  • ・Physiological roles of insulin receptor substrate-1 and -2 in rats

・Impact of growth hormone on glucose and lipid metabolism in relation with ER stress
